Where are you from?
Genys: I'm from Klaipeda, Lithuania. Based in Vilnius :)
Mark: I am from London but I prefer Vilnius :)
Why did you start this shit?
Genys: Why should we have to look for a label abroad to release our music? We can do it ourselves, start the business, build a new family of talented people. We don't want to sit around sending demos to strangers and waiting for replies. I decided to cooperate with Mark Splinter, because we were thinking the same thing at the same time. It's better to do it together for many reasons! And it isn't just a label, it's pushing Lithuanian culture forward, it's a platform for newcomers to start producing more tunes and to learn better techniques, to start playing live, to finally raise the reputation of Lithuania in the world.
Mark: I think the same as Genys about building a strong local scene first, before you can export your ideas anywhere else. The standard of music production in Lithuania is very high, I love working here, and there is absolutely no reason why we can't create a world famous label. Lowvibe is a way of showing that we are organised and serious. The talent here is ready to explode, so let's do this.
What does lowvibe mean to you?
Genys: This is a chance to go further in music production, and in my life.
Mark: The best things are hidden, low down, and you have to listen deeply if you want to understand fully.
How is the launch party gonna be special?
Genys: The answer is in the name. This will be first lithuanian dubstep label in the world :) It will be start of our family's journey. We will preview our first release LOW001, with tracks from Taksi, Eleven Tigers, and myself, along with fresh dubs from our newcomers. This is the zero-year birthday party of Lowvibe.
Mark: Fuck dubstep, Lowvibe is going to develop the next big genre, or I will quit!
